AFTER SCHOOL CLASS: Tuesday/ Thursday Devised Performance

Meets: Tuesdays and Thursdays 4PM - 6PM in person at Tacoma Little Theatre
Performance: Saturday, June, 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM (actors called at 1:00). Free for friends and family to attend.
Ages: 10-14 recommended

Description: Our after school classes create opportunities for students to learn and explore through the process of putting on a play! From going through an audition process to the final bow, we'll teach about all that goes into putting on a show, and mentor our young actors in their performance art skills.
This is a special opportunity for your young actors to explore the world of devised performance. This is where the actors and the director work together to create the show that they will perform. Our directors will present parts of a script to the class and work with them to fill-in the blanks! If your kid is interested in script or story writing, design, acting, and/or directing, this is right for them! The final product will still be a fully staged and produced play. The only difference? Your kids are going to have a voice in writing it!
Creating a show together is an empowering, challenging, and fun process! You'll be blown away by the insight and creativity the team uses to craft a one-of-a-kind production. Each actor will walk away with greater confidence in themselves, their ideas, and their skills.
Attendance Policy: Theatre is a team sport! We need all of our actors to be present so we can learn and work together. Please check that your student is available for our performance, and specifically for the last two weeks of class. If they miss rehearsals prior to the first two weeks, we'll do our best to catch them up, but it may be impossible for them to participate in the parts of the show they missed learning.
Cancelation Policy: If you cancel your enrollment more than 2 weeks before this class begins, we can offer a 50% refund. If you cancel enrollment 14 or fewer days before the start of camp, we are unable to offer any refunds. Partial credit toward future camps or classes may be available.
